A new generation is about to feel the magic of The Mighty Ducks.

Disney+ just unveiled the new trailer for its upcoming series, “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” which is set to premiere March 26, 2021. The show is set in present day Minnesota, where the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today. With the help of Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez), they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game.

The series features a talented new team of up-and-coming young actors including Brady Noon, Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O’Reilly, Taegen Burns, Bella Higginbotham, and DJ Watts.

While the show definitely seems like it will speak to a new generation of kids, there seems to be some nostaglia and easter eggs for the 90s kids. It’s cool to see Emilio Estevez back in action and you can also see in the trailer that Hendrix Sports is still a sponsor for the Ducks! We have our fingers crossed that there may be some cameos from the original movies in the show but we’ll have to wait and see.
