Two new students will be enrolling at East High for season 2 of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”

Filming is underway on season 2 of Disney+’s hit “High School Musical” show and we’ll be seeing a lot of new faces including new guest stars Asher Angel & Andrew Barth Feldman. Billboard announced the casting this morning and we’re excited to see these two join the show. Andrew is best known for playing Evan Hansen on Broadway in Dear Evan Hansen as well as starring in the recent Tiktok phenom Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical. For Asher, it will be an “Andi Mack” reunion as he joins former co-star Sofia Wylie. So who will they be playing?

Andrew will be playing French exchange student Antoine and Asher will play Jack, who is described as a “charming, smooth-talking student with wanderlust.” They join previously announced new recruits Derek Hough (Zack), Roman Banks (Howie) and Olivia Rose Keegan (Lily).

It definitely seems like it’s a full circle moment for Andrew, who posted an adorable video of him as a child singing along to “High School Musical.” (Swipe to the last slide below)

This casting news isn’t the only bit of “HSMTMTS” we got this week. The show posted on socials a Facetime call of what happened the day after the big musical.

Uh oh! It seems like Gina isn’t sure she wants to stay. Also, Nini still hasn’t told Ricky her big news. We cannot wait for season 2 and hopefully Disney+ announces the release date soon.
