It’s with a heavy heart that we report Cameron Boyce has passed away at the young age of 20.

ABC News first broke the news late Saturday evening. A spokesperson for the Boyce family told the outlet, “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”

Cameron first caught our eyes as one of Adam Sandler’s mischievous sons in the Grown Ups franchise and then he went on to steal our hearts as Luke Ross on Disney Channel’s “Jessie”. He also led the Disney XD show “Gamers Guide to Pretty Much Everything” and is most recently known for his work as Carlos in the “Descendants” franchise.

Disney Channel released their own statement remembering Cameron saying, “From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives through his humanitarian work,” said a Disney Channel spokesperson. “He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, cast mates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.”

Not only was Cameron a rising star in the acting world, he was also an accomplished dancer and philanthropist. He worked closely with many organizations including the Thirst Project.

We first met Cameron on the set of Jessie right before the series premiere and have interviewed him numerous times throughout the years. He was also so kind and treated everyone like a friend. His smile and personality were infectious and he will truly be missed. We are sending lots of love and prayers to his family and loved ones during this devastating time.
