The Year of Spectacular Men is a beautiful and raw love letter to that period in your life when you sit and think – “Is this as good as it gets? What’s next? How do I survive the real world?”
The film was written and scored by Madelyn Deutch, who also stars as Izzy in the film. Joining her for the truly family affair are her mom Lea Thompson (Director), sister Zoey Deutch (Co-Star, Producer) and father Howard Deutch (Producer). The film tells the story of Izzy Klein, a young woman fresh out of college as she strikes up and ruins relationships with several men, and struggles to navigate the failures of post-college adulthood, leaning on her mother and older sister for support.
Also starring in the film are Avan Jogia, Cameron Monaghan, Jesse Bradford, Brandon T Jackson & Zach Roerig.
We had the chance to sit down and chat with Maddie and Lea about the evolution of the film, representing millennials and the message of the film.
The Year of Spectacular Men is in select theaters and available on iTunes & On Demand now.
