Today is a good day for Katherine Langford!
The 21-year-old received her first Golden Globes nomination this morning for “13 Reasons Why” and now she’s landed her next role. The Australian actress will be starring in Spontaneous according to Deadline.
The film will be adapted from the YA novel of the same name by Aaron Starmer. She will star as Mara Carlye, whose life is forever changed when students in her senior class literally explodes for no discernible reason. As students continue to pop like blood-filled balloons and the town descends into both chaos and apathy, Mara and her friends stay close together as they await possible combustion – wondering what part of life is worth living if it might end suddenly.
The film will be directed & written by Brian Duffield and produced by Awesomeness Films and Jurassic Party Productions. Katherine can be seen next in the another YA book turned film, Love, Simon, and she just wrapped season 2 of “13 Reasons Why.”
