Dylan O’Brien has been a long time fan of the Mets. In fact, his twitter bio used to say “long suffering Mets fan.” After the Mets made it to the 2015 World Series, Dylan’s twitter bio changed to “no longer suffering Mets fan.” He even turned his girlfriend Britt Robertson into a Mets fan! So you can only imagine of his dreams was to throw out the first pitch at a Mets game.
Back in 2011, Dylan gave an interview where he said, “I’ve always said to myself that I would throw out the first pitch of a New York Mets game” and Dylan can now cross that off his bucket list. He took the mound on Tuesday night to throw out the first pitch in celebration of his upcoming movie American Assassin and he nailed it! Can someone please cast him in a baseball movie soon? Maybe a baseball movie about the Mets?
On Wednesday, Dylan stopped by AOL Build along with his American Assassin co-star Taylor Kitsch and director Michael Cuesta to dish on the upcoming action flick. “When I first read it, I was immediately taken with the role,” Dylan said about being drawn to the role of Mitch Rapp. “I felt like it was a really strong role, something too that I felt like was really emotional and believable and something that operates in this really topical and relevant landscape. The arc immediately spoke to me.”
