Selena Gomez’s passion project “13 Reasons Why” is officially out!
The actress/singer put on her producer hat for this new Netflix series which 7 years ago was supposed to be a movie starring her. Now the 13-episode series stars Dylan Minnette & Katherine Langford and Sel couldn’t be more excited to share it with the world.
She posted on Instagram, “Our show @13reasonswhy came out tonight and I couldn’t be more overwhelmed with pride and joy. After 7 years of holding onto this book, I couldn’t of picked a better time for this message to exist. Jay Asher wrote a beautifully tragic, compelling story and we were lucky to have brought it to life. Thank you to every single soul that put their heart into this passion project.”
The show has been getting rave reviews and we cannot wait to watch. In addition to producing, Selena recorded a cover of Yazoo’s song “Only You” for the soundtrack and you can listen to the full version below.
Dylan and Katherine recently sat down with E! where they discussed working with Selena. “She’s a very busy person and she bought the rights to the book 7 years ago. When it started she was going through a lot in life…she let the people who were physically making this make it. She really put a lot of trust in us in that way and she came at the end. As soon as she came, was so warm and so welcoming and passionate about it. Made us feel so at home…she’s amazing,” Dylan shared.
