Nick Jonas & Karen Gillan were joined by co-stars Dwayne Johnson & Jack Black at CinemaCon 2017 in Las Vegas to present the first footage from their film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

The new film is not a reboot or remake of the beloved original starring Robin Williams & Bonnie Hunt, but a follow up and instead of a board game, four teenagers will be sucked into the world of Jumanji via video game.

According to THR, the first footage from the movie was well received by the audience and included footage of four high school kids in detention who have to clean out the school basement. There they find an old video game console, which features the game Jumanji. They pick a character and then end up being transported into the game and into that character’s body so go figure, the popular girl ends up in Jack Black’s character’s body while the nerdy guy ends up in the body of Dwayne Johnson’s character.

While there’s no word yet on if anyone from the original Jumanji will make a cameo, The Wrap did reveal that the film will have one major throwback – a rhino stampede!

Check out the official synopsis for the film below:

When four high-school kids discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of – Jumanji – they are immediately drawn into the game’s jungle setting, literally becoming the avatars they chose: gamer Spencer becomes a brawny adventurer (Dwayne Johnson); football jock Fridge loses (in his words) “the top two feet of his body” and becomes an Einstein (Kevin Hart); popular girl Bethany becomes a middle-aged male professor (Jack Black); and wallflower Martha becomes a badass warrior (Karen Gillan). What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji – you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves – or they’ll be stuck in the game forever…

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle hits theaters December 22, 2017. Check out an interview with the cast from CinemaCon below.
