The story of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010 will be brought to life on the big screen come September 30 thanks to Deepwater Horizon.
The film, based on true events, chronicles the courage of those who worked on the Deepwater Horizon and the extreme moments of bravery and survival in the face of what would become one of the biggest man-made disasters in world history. It stars Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn and two of our favorites Dylan O’Brien & Gina Rodriguez.
In a new featurette, director Peter Berg & Wahlberg both share their love of working with the two. “Gina Rodriguez & Dylan O’Brien are young hungry actors that want to learn and try different things and be pushed,” Berg shared. In the film, the duo portray real people and Dylan shared, “meeting with Caleb [who he portrays], he instantly became a hero of mine. He’s what a hero is.” Gina added about portraying Andrea, “I hope I just did her justice.”
