This season of “Dancing With the Stars” is going to be a good one and not just because of the dancing!
Even more than the dancing, we love seeing the relationships between the pro dancer and the celebrity and the one couple leading the pack in that department is Olympian Laurie Hernandez & Val Chmerkovskiy. The duo have posted a number of cute videos from a “Saturday Night Fever” recreation to a rehearsal video set to “Never Gonna Give You Up.” In addition, their team name is Valaur which is just awesome in itself.
Val posted a new video yesterday which shows the two meeting for the first time and Laurie’s reaction is priceless! She even teaches Val some of her floor routine which he picks up like, well, a pro! Accompanying the video, Val posted the sweetest message saying, “what a gift it is to be able to work with this young lady. speaking of “passing it forward” if you ever see me stressing this season it will be solely because I want to do this incredible talent justice.”
We’re already getting misty eyed! He continued, “I’m so excited for this journey because I get to be a big brother to a potential that has no limits. a heart with unlimited gratitude and joy. and a young woman that has shown and will continue to do so.. that you’re never too young to try and change the world. To her peers especially and to those older cats like myself, maybe relight a spirit of joy and youthfulness that’s been chipped away over the years. Lets do this.”
