Throwing out the first pitch at a Major League Baseball game in front of thousands of people can be intimidating, just ask 50 Cent. That wasn’t the case this past week, however, for Olympic gymnasts Laurie Hernandez & Madison Kocian.
Madison Kocian is a huge fan of the Texas Rangers and had the chance to throw out the first pitch and she did it in style on Sept 3. She did one of her strength exercises into a walkover and then threw a strike! Talk about a pro. She also got the chance to throw out the first pitch at Frisco Rough Riders game where she opted for an aerial and once again, threw a strike. Well, if she ever needs a fall back career, pitching might be it!
Her teammate, Laurie Hernandez also got to throw out the first pitch at the Mets game the same day and went for the aerial. Her pitch was a little wide, but it still cleared the plate, so we say, that’s a win!
Check out both pitches below. Teammates Aly Raisman & Simone Biles also threw out first pitches at a Red Sox & Astros game, respectively. Aly kept her pitch simple while Simone also brought in the fancy flips (and she actually threw her first pitch out before heading to the Olympics).
