Disney Channel will be launching it’s 100th original movie, aka DCOM, this summer with “Adventures in Babysitting”, and they plan on celebrating in a big way!
DCOMs have defined many of our childhoods over the years and whenever we see them pop up on TV, it’s like the perfect flashback. This Memorial Day and all the way through June, Disney Channel has got you covered by planning to play every DCOM ever! Yep, you heard us right!
The event, which has its own cool logo which premiered on E!, will kick off Memorial Day weekend with a marathon of 51 original movies. That includes everything from “Brink” to “Smart House” to “Halloweentown” to “Johnny Tsunami.” Encores of those movies plus the rest of the 100 will air throughout May and June. So get those DVRs ready to record and store these for old times’ sake. In addition, all 100 films will be available for purchase throughout the summer via iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Google Play and they’ll be available on the Disney Channel app.
