The cast for the upcoming sequel to The Maze Runner is growing!
According to THR, Jacob Lofland (Mud) has joined the cast of The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials. Lofland will play Aris Jones, a significant character in the second novel. After The Gladers escape the maze, they meet Aris and discover his connection to the maze and the people who built it.
Aidan Gillen has also joined the cast as Janson – the villain and Rosa Salazar has joined the cast as Brenda, a character who runs around with another group of teens (as that group’s lone female), who ends up paired with Thomas when both end up on the run in tunnels underneath a city.
The Scorch Trials centers on the teen boys (and one girl) who escaped the deadly maze and are now faced with a new set of challenges for survival in a futuristic world ravaged by devastation and disease.
They all join Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Ki-Hong Lee in the film.
