ABC Family has renewed the freshman comedy starring Emily Osment for a second season. The show has done well for the network and was basic cable’s No. 1 telecast in its time period in adults 18-34 and women 18-34 and received two Teen Choice Award nominations.

In addition, ABC Family chose to pick up drama “Stitchers,” the network’s first procedural drama series. “Stitchers is new ground for us, and I’m excited to bring procedurals to the network,” said ABC Family President Tom Ascheim. Written by Jeffrey A. Schechter, Stitchers follows a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. The show stars Minni Jo Mazzola & Emma Ishta.
