robbieamell-flash-070914We were bummed when the CW decided to cancel “The Tomorrow People” starring Robbie Amell, but thankfully he’ll be returning to the network soon!

It was just announced that the Canadian actor will be joining the cast of the highly anticipated CW show “The Flash.” Robbie will recur as DC Comics character Ronnie Raymond who is one-half of Firestorm. He is set to make his first appearance in the third episode and Ronnie is Caitlin Snow’s (Danielle Panabaker) fiance, whose fate is more complicated than first imagined. A maintenance worker at S.T.A.R. Labs, Ronnie plays an integral part in the particle accelerator accident that transforms Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) into The Flash.

“[Executive producers] Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) — and to actually have someone with Robbie’s talent playing the role is beyond exciting. We can’t wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out,” said executive producer Greg Berlanti.

Robbie added “I’m so excited to join forces with Greg Berlanti and The CW again on The Flash. Being brought into the DC Universe is a dream, I can’t wait to get started!”

Now that Robbie is on “The Flash,” fingers crossed we’ll get to see him share the screen in some capacity with his cousin Stephen Amell who stars in “Arrow” and makes a cameo in the first episode of “The Flash.”

“The Flash” stars Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett and John Wesley Shipp and is set to premiere Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
