Laura Marano is teaming up with one of our favorite TV moms – Leigh-Allyn Baker – for the newest Disney Channel Original Movie.
It was announced today via Variety that the two will star in “Bad Hair Day,”
The buddy adventure will star Laura as a high school tech whiz who’s bound and determined to be crowned prom queen. But, on the big day, everything that can go wrong does go wrong, starting with her sudden and epically uncontrollable hair and her once lovely but now destroyed prom dress. She soon comes to rely on a down on her luck cop (Baker) who’s in pursuit of a missing necklace that the teen unwittingly has in her possession. Prom day goes from bad to mad as the pair is pursued by a dogged jewel thief (Christian Campbell) on a wild ride across the city.
The movie is set to begin production today for a 2015 premiere date. Leigh-Allyn Baker is also executive producing the movie, which will be directed by Erik Canuel and film in Montreal, Canada.
Laura can currently be seen on the hit Disney Channel show “Austin & Ally” while Leigh-Allyn Baker is best known for “Good Luck Charlie” and currently provides a voice on the new Disney Channel show “The 7D.”
