Have we told you how excited we are for The Giver yet? If not, consider this our declaration!
Lois Lowry’s award winning book is one of our favorites so when we heard it was finally being turned into a movie, we jumped for joy. Of course, there are a few things that have changes as it goes to the big screen like the aging up of the characters, but with the casting of Brenton Thwaites, we’re ok with it.
The first trailer hit the web last month and now we have a new featurette.
The footage shows Jonas (Thwaites) meeting with The Giver (Jeff Bridges) and being given his new duty which he doesn’t quite understand. “If I’m not a receiver, what does that make you?” he questions. Mixed with the footage is author Lois Lowry discussing the story.
“This is a boy who perceives the hypocrisy of the governing body of his world and perceives something deeply evil there,” she said.
