It looks like Allegiant will be following in the footsteps of Twilight, Harry Potter & The Hunger Games. The finale of the Divergent series will be split into two films.
Deadline broke the news that the final book in Veronica Roth’s trilogy will be broken up into two films set to hit theaters on March 18, 2016 and March 24, 2017.
The first film, Divergent, brought in $54.6M during its opening weekend and has now made $117M domestic and $139M worldwide. The question is now, where will Allegiant be split? Where do you think the story will be split?
Until then, we’ll have to keep our eyes out for Insurgent which is set to release March 20, 2015.
