We have some exciting casting news for your Friday!
First up, Nina Dobrev has landed her next big screen role. “The Vampire Diaries” star has joined the horror comedy The Final Girls. Nina will star along with Adam Devine, Alexander Ludwig, Malin Akerman, Thomas Middleditch and Taissa Farmiga. The movie \centers on a girl who, along with her friends, is mysteriously transported into the world of an iconic ’80s horror flick, which starred her recently deceased mother (Akerman), a famous scream queen. The group must try to survive the movie and defeat its crazed killer.
Middleditch will play a film geek for whom landing in a classic horror flick is a dream come true, until it turns into a nightmare. Dobrev will play the alpha ex-best friend. Ludwig will act as Farmiga’s love interest while Devine will be the movie-within-a-movie’s appointed teen seducer.
In other casting news, Step Up alum Ryan Guzman is set to star in Hold Your Ground. The movie is set in the worlds of Southern California surf culture, Brazilian jiu jitsu and mixed martial arts. It follows the story of an abandoned teen taken in by his long lost uncle who teaches him about life through surfing and jiu jitsu.
