“Ground Floor” and Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin is reuniting with his Spring Awakening co-star Lea Michele for a big episode of “Glee”!
The news broke yesterday when both Darren Criss & Chord Overstreet posted pics of them with Skylar on their Instagram. THR then confirmed that Skylar will be guest starring as Jean-Baptise, the leader of Throat Explosion – the New Directions’ competition at Nationals. He will appear in a March episode.
Lea has been trying to get her pal on the show forever and even wanted him for the role of Brody. “We’ve been trying! I wanted them to see him for Brody and for so many characters along the way, but he just has to stop being a movie star and doing so many movies!” Lea told THR in October 2012. “I’m his biggest fan, he’s one of my best friends, and I couldn’t be happier for him and his success. He’s amazing in Pitch Perfect. The minute I can get him on Glee, I want him on the show.”
In other casting news, AJ Michalka took to Instagram to share a photo of a script for an episode of “The Goldbergs.” TVLine has learned she will be playing Lainey, Erica’s new wild-child best friend who is not the greatest influence.
We definitely can’t wait to see Skylar and AJ on these shows!
