After finishing his DJ set, Joe and his girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler, supported pal Demi Lovato at the NYLON + McDonald’s Dec/Jan issue launch party, which features Demi on the Cover. If you missed Demi’s cover story, go here. Joe is also featured in the new issue of NYLON Guys. Check it out here.
OMG Yahoo also caught up with Joe last night to talk about his revealing NY Magazine interview. “You know, it’s been cool,” Joe said of the reaction to the interview. “I feel really blessed to have people responding in [a relatable] way. It makes me feel great, it makes me feel comfortable and at the end of the day it’s my story. Take it or leave it, if you don’t like it, it’s fine with me, I don’t really care!”
Joe really put everything out there, so how did his parents and family handle it? “I gave them [Kevin & Nick] the heads up. With something like that, you have to at least let them know, ‘Hey guys, this is coming out. I don’t want this to be too shocking.’ They had the best responses. Nick was like, ‘Hey this is your interview, speak your heart.'”
As far as mom and dad go, “Look, they were a little bit nervous,” Joe admitted to omg!. “Some of the things I think were a little bit jarring for them to have their son release. But they are supportive, and my dad says it best. You can’t change life. You have to be able to live your life and I always have respect for people that can talk about their life openly.”
