Selena Gomez will be returning home to Dallas this Thanksgiving!
The 21-year-old has joined forces with the Salvation Army and will be kicking off the 123rd annual Red Kettle Campaign in a big way. She will be performing at halftime of the Dallas Cowboys game on Thanksgiving Day!
In its 17th year, the Red Kettle Kick Off show – hosted annually by the Dallas Cowboys – will launch yet another great season of giving. Last year, the American public donated a record $148.7 million to The Salvation Army’s red kettles, allowing the organization to serve millions of Americans with food, shelter, clothing, financial assistance and toys for children.
“Dallas is my hometown, and to be invited to perform on behalf of The Salvation Army is such a great honor. Giving back is so important, and I am looking forward to kicking off the iconic Red Kettle Campaign and getting those bells ringing across the nation to help families and children in need,” said Gomez.
So what can you expect from Selena’s halftime performance? “You should expect something new with a twist of old,” Gomez hinted. “We had to make it special for my hometown.”
In further support of the campaign, the actress and multi-platinum recording artist is encouraging fans to donate to her own Online Red Kettle. Fans can join Selena’s fundraising team by clicking here. Eight very lucky fundraisers will have the chance to connect with the singer through a Google hangout later in the season.
Tune in to see Selena perform as the Dallas Cowboys take on the Oakland Raiders at 4:30 PM (ET) on November 28 live on FOX!
