Jennifer is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Variety, and the magazine debuted some new photos from the highly anticipated movie. We get to see a few of Katniss in her arena gear as well as two black and white Capitol portraits of Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Johanna (Jena Malone).

In the cover story, producer Nina Jacobson, director Francis Lawrence and Jennifer Lawrence chat with the magazine about the hit franchise.

“She really is the reluctant hero,” Jennifer Lawrence says of her character. “She’s brave, but she’s also scared, and she knows that things may wind up being far worse.”

Jennifer has quickly become one of the most sought after young actresses in the business, especially after scoring an Academy Award last year for Silver Linings Playbook. Sometimes, all the fame can change a young actor, but not Jennifer.

“She’s not a diva — she’s the anti-diva,” producer Nina Jacobson says of Lawrence. “One of my favorite moments is where she has the wedding dress on for the interview (scene) in ‘Catching Fire.’ It’s a big cumbersome dress, and she fell down, so we played that over and over on the monitors. There’s such a lack of pretense with Jen; she’s more than happy to laugh at herself.”

Francis Lawrence took over the helm from director Gary Ross for this second film and Lawrence said Jennifer was quick to welcome him into the family. “Jen inherited me as a director, and was great about it,” he recalls. “I called her when she was in Prague, and gave her my pitch, and I was stunned at how easy that part of it was. She’s the most consistent person on the set.”
