Jennifer Lawrence has just booked her next film role and she’s joining forces once again with The Hunger Games director Gary Ross.
Variety reports that JLaw will star in Universal’s adaptation of the John Steinbeck novel. The 1955 movie adaptation of the film starred James Dean.
So who will Jennifer play? She will play at an earlier time in her life, the role of the mother who was played by Jo Van Fleet in the 1955 version. According to Variety, the role isn’t one of the most important, but it confirms how bad Jennifer wanted to work with Gary Ross again and “did not want to miss out on the opportunity given her busy schedule.”
East of Eden revolves around a father and two sons in California’s Salinas Valley, and the dark secrets about their mother, whom they thought dead.
