The cast of the Hollywood Bowl’s production of Chicago is finally complete!
Ashlee Simpson will round out the cast as Roxie Hart, the aspiring stage performer who faces trial over the alleged murder of her lover. Simpson is no stranger to the role, which Renee Zellweger played in the 2002 film. She played the role in 2006 in the West End production as well as the 10th anniversary celebration of “Chicago” and in the Broadway revival in 2009.
The singer/actress joins the star studded cast which features Samantha Barks as Velma Kelly, Drew Carey as Amos Hart, Lucy Lawless as Mama Morton and Stephen Moyer as Billy Flynn. The production will be directed by Brooke Shields.
The musical will run at the Hollywood Bowl from July 26-28 and tickets are on sale now.
