It looks like Shailene Woodley might be thisclose to landing a lead role in another highly anticipated YA novel-turned-movie.
The 21-year-old has been on a hot streak since her breakout performance in The Descendants earning rave reviews and the special jury award for acting at Sundance for The Spectacular Now and coveted roles in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Mary Jane Watson and Divergent as Tris. Now her name is in the running for the movie adaptation of The Fault In Our Stars.
Sources have confirmed to Hypable that Shailene has not been officially cast but she is definitely in the running for the part of Hazel. Shailene’s tweets though reinforce that she is definitely a front runner. Author John Green tweeted yesterday, “Big news is forthcoming in re The Fault in Our Stars movie. THIS HAS BEEN A VERY EXCITING COUPLE OF DAYS.” Shailene then retweeted.
The Fault in Our Stars is the story of Hazel Lancaster and Augustus Waters, two Indianapolis teenagers who meet at a Cancer Kid Support Group.
