Looks like Kristen Stewart has received some good news!
Earlier this year, it was rumored that both Kristen and Jennifer Lawrence wanted the lead role in Lie Down in Darkness. Both expressed the desire to take on the role of Peyton Loftis in various interviews.
After months of waiting, it looks like Kristen has beat out Jennifer for the role, reports Vulture. The indie movie is based on William Styron’s 1951 novel, Lie Down In Darkness.
Kristen will play Peyton, who is a part of a dysfunctional and disintegrating family. She is constantly compared to her crippled sister, Maudie, and her intense physical beauty makes her the object of her frigid mother’s jealous hatred and the target of her father’s incestuous, alcoholic lust.
The movie is still in the early stages and a source tells THR, “while it’s exciting to see all the interest the project is generating, the film is still in the pre-production process and no offers to cast have been made as of yet.”
What do you think of Kristen’s new role?
