Lionsgate has finally settled on a director to take over where Gary Ross left off with the successful The Hunger Games franchise – Francis Lawrence.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news exclusively last night after learning previously the competition was down to Lawrence and Bennett Miller.
Sources told THR that Lawrence was expected to receive his offer Thursday afternoon. He has previously directed I Am Legend and Water for Elephants.
What do you think about this director choice? It will be hard to replace Ross, who also helped write the script, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
