Austin Butler Lands Male Lead in “The Carrie Diaries”

It looks like “The Carrie Diaries” has found its leading man.

Austin Butler has landed the role the role in the new CW pilot, which is a prequel to “Sex & The City,” according to Deadline.

Austin will play Sebastian Kydd, a brooding heartthrob and ultimate insider who always plays the outsider. His presence at Carrie’s school will shake things up in a big way.

Also set to star in the show are AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie, Brendan Dooling as Carrie’s best guy friend, Freema Agyeman as Carrie’s mentor Larissa, Katie Findlay and Ellen Wong.

Austin is currently a recurring star on “Switched at Birth” and starred in the ABC Family pilot “Intercept.”
