Los Angeles sure felt a rush last night as Big Time Rush’s “Better With U” tour made a stop at the Gibson Amphitheater.
The show featured opening acts Jackson Guthy and JoJo. Jackson opened the show with a lot of energy. He sang some of his songs including “Make Up Your Mind” and “Don’t You Go.”
Jackson was followed up by JoJo, who performed songs from her upcoming album including “Jumping Trains” and her hit singles “Leave (Get Out)” and “Too Little Too Late.” She showed off some dance moves and also talked about how it’s been 8 years since “Leave (Get Out)” changed her life. Can you believe it’s been that long?
Finally it was time for Big Time Rush to take the stage, and that they did. Their set was full of cool rigs that looked kind of like a warehouse…
There were plenty of things to climb on and in the middle of the set of was trampoline that the guys had fun jumping and flipping off of. Logan, Kendall, Carlos, and James opened the show with the theme song to their hit show and a ton of energy. Showing off some new dance moves and strong vocals, they proved that you can dance and sing at the same time and sound great.
BTR performed a mix of songs from their first album (“Til I Forget About You,” “Worldwide”) and their sophomore album (“Elevate,” “Love Me Love Me,” “Invisible”). Some highlights were “Worldwide,” when they pulled a super fan on stage and sang to her, and “Covergirl” when the guys sang the ballad while walking through the crowd. Let’s just say the girls went wild.
The show featured a few outfit changes, many of which the guys donned customized baseball caps. To close out the show, the guys ended with an encore of “The City Is Ours” (one of our favorite songs).
We’ve been following BTR since the very beginning and it’s so amazing to see how far they’ve come as a band. They are truly performers who put on an entertaining show.
If you have the chance to see the “Better With U” tour, we highly recommend it. It reminded us of the boyband shows of old ala NSYNC and BSB. If you haven’t gotten your tickets to the tour yet, visit bigtimetour.com now!
