Lea Michele may have become a familiar face around the world thanks to “Glee,” but she really made her mark when she starred on Broadway in Spring Awakening alongside bff Jonathan Groff. It now looks like she could reprise her star-making role.
The musical is set to get a big screen adaptation and director McG really wants Lea Michele to star. He told E!, “We’re talking to Lea Michele because she made the role of Wendla famous and we’ll see if that pans out and works with the timing of her schedule on [Glee].”
He continued, “I love Lea; we’ve talked about it. When I first got turned onto the show she was in it so it’s her voice that echoes in my heart. I really think she’s wonderful and we’ll see where it takes us.”
We would love to see Lea in the big screen version. Can we just go ahead and cast JGroff too? Or even Hunter Parrish who did a stint in the musical would be a good choice.
So, would you cast Lea in the role of Wendla? If Lea turns down the part, who would you cast in her place and the other leads?
