TV News: Jake T Austin Heads to SVU, Big Time Rush Movie Premiere Date and More

Jake T Austin may no longer be on our TV’s as Max on “Wizards of Waverly Place,” but he’ll be returning to the tube soon!

According to TV Guide, Jake has landed a guest starring role on “Law & Order: SVU.” In the episode titled “Home Invasions,” Jake will play Rob Fisher, the boyfriend of a girl whose family is brutally murdered.

In other TV news, Big Time Rush’s “Big Time Movie” will premiere on Nickelodeon on March 10 and the network’s new show “How To Rock” will premiere February 4.

Also, Nickelodeon has ordered 21 episodes of Fred: The Show, a live-action, short-form comedy series created by and starring Lucas Cruikshank. They have also given a pilot order to “Marvin, Marvin” starring Lucas as a quirky, intergalactic new kid in school who clumsily tries to adapt to his new life as a human teenager.

In more TV news, for those of you who love “The Secret Circle,” get ready to meet Cassie’s mysterious father and man of dark magic John Blackwell. TV Guide has learned he will be played by Joe Lando.

He’ll return to Chance Harbor in Episode 15 (titled “Return”) claiming to be a changed man, and determined to protect Cassie (Britt Robertson) and her Circle. So that means he didn’t die in the fire?

And finally, casting news about another of our favorite CW shows, “The Vampire Diaries.” According to TV Line, “Smallville” alum Cassidy Freeman has booked a potential recurring role as Sage, someone who is “sexy and fearless, with a devilish smile.” She will first appear in episode 16.

Appearing in flashbacks circa 1912, Sage’s allure is felt by the Salvatore brothers as well as by the Original family.
