Could Darren Criss be any more talented? We’re pretty sure he’s the only person who could pull this over.
Darren performed at the Sing Out, Raise Hope benefit concert benefitting the Trevor Project and Elizabeth Glaser’s Pediatric AIDS Foundation on December 17. While on stage, Darren decided to sit down and play the most unusual mashup on the keys. He surprised the audience with a rendition of Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” and Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time.” Yes, you heard right…Britney and Beethoven!
To keep the music going, Darren also surprised fans with a secret show at Joe’s Pub in NYC on December 18. The first 100 fans to show up with a toy were allowed entry to the concert in aid of Toys for Tots, which benefits disadvantaged children throughout the festive period.
Darren sang a string of his own tracks, as well as Glee songs and joked when he forgot the words to a tune, saying, “This is what happens when you get two hours of sleep a night.” He also performed our favorite, “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid.
