Just call him Rupert Claus!
Rupert Grint ensured Christmas came early for students at a school in Birmingham, England on Tuesday as he handed out copies of the latest Harry Potter movie during a surprise visit.
The star, who plays Ron Weasley in the hit movie franchise, cast a spell over children at the Bishop Walsh school as he walked into an assembly unannounced after a pupil won an online contest to meet the 23-year-old.
Sarah Cotter, 17, won the contest and shared, “I was in complete shock, I couldn’t speak. After the question and answer session I went to another room to have a chat and pictures. It was amazing.” And she entered it so long ago, she forgot about it, so it was even more of a surprise.
She continued, “I entered the competition so long ago that I forgot about it. I just entered my school’s details and answered a question about Ron. I love Harry Potter, before the last film was released, we did a 26-hour movie marathon.”
Grint, along with his co-star Oliver Phelps, chatted with students before distributing copies of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part Two – but Grint admits he’s not yet seen the release.
He said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a DVD (of Harry Potter) – I find it very strange watching it back!”
