Adele Crowned the Queen of iTunes for 2011, But It Might Be A Few Years Until Her Next Album

2011 was no doubt an amazing year for Adele, so it’s no surprise she’s been crowned the queen of iTunes for 2011.

Bosses at iTunes have named the British singer’s album 21 as its 2011 bestseller, while her “Rolling in the Deep” is the bestselling song. Mumford & Sons have come in second among the bestselling albums with Sigh No More, while the deluxe edition of Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV is third.

LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” is the second biggest iTunes pop hit of 2011 and Katy Perry’s “Firework” is third.

After such a great 2011 though, it looks like Adele will take her time on her next album. She is refusing to rush out her next album to capitalize on her huge popularity, insisting it will be at least two years before she decides to release a new project.

She tells Billboard magazine, “I imagine I’ll be 25 or 26 by the time my next record comes out, as I haven’t even thought about my third record yet.

“I’m just gonna lay some concrete, set up home and just be for a bit. I’ll disappear and come back with a record when it’s good enough. There will be no new music until it’s good enough and until I’m ready.”

Well, it was two years in between her album 19 and her recent album 21, so I guess we can wait another two years, but it will be hard!
