Zac Efron has been busy overseas promoting his new movie New Year’s Eve.
Zac stopped by Daybreak this morning to talk about his “High School Musical” past and re-teaming with Michelle Pfeiffer.
“It was absolutely the best, it was just fun,” Zac said reflecting on his HSM days. “It was about celebrating life. It was really a chance to…Kenny Ortega was a phenomenal director. He pushed us to really not be afraid to be ourselves, to stretch, to have fun…it was really an uplifting time in our lives.”
And Zac’s storyline in New Year’s Eve re-teams him with Hairspray co-star Michelle Pfeiffer, so what was it like working with her again?
“I was very young [when we did Hairspray] and I was a little bit nervous to work with her. I tended to say all the wrong things and I was very bashful around her. Now this was a chance to work with her in a much more…a heightened storyline, we have a lot more. A much more connected relationship. When I found out she wanted to play the role, I was in 100%.”
New Year’s Eve hits theaters December 9. Catch a sneak peek of Zac in his next movie, The Lucky One, here.
