We’re only a few days away from the premiere of “Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas”!

In the DCOM, the Duncan family once again finds themselves on an adventure as they head to Palm Springs to spend Christmas with Amy’s parents. We had the chance to sit down with the cast recently and first up, Bridgit Mendler! We chatted with her about the movie, her own music, and even her ideal perfect date.

On writing “I’m Gonna Run to You” for the movie: “Working on that song was really fun. It was a cool vibe to channel. We wanted to go with something holiday friendly but not exclusive to the holidays.”

On her own music: “I’m just finishing up working on my album right now. I’m now in the recording process. We have the songs…It’s kind of like a sassy, sometimes soulful, funky sort of thing…I’m not very good at describing my own sound. It’s very different from anything I’ve ever done before musically.”

On her favorite scene from the movie: “I really enjoyed filming the dance number. I think that was really fun because we’d been preparing that for so long.”

On what she wants for Christmas: “I’m kind of itching for a Wurlitzer piano.”

What advice she would leave for Charlie if she was making a diary: “I would give her the advice of being her own person. I think that that’s the most important is to not be afraid to be who you are.”

On her ideal first date: “I’ve always said that going to a carnival would be fun. I like the idea of all of that playfulness and fun and games everywhere. I think in terms of a first date that would probably be good.”
