–David Henrie & executive producer Peter Murrietta smile with “Wizards of Waverly Place” stars Maria Canal-Barreras & guest star Fred Willard at the LA’s BEST FAMILY BRUNCH which was sponsored by MATTEL and held in downtown Los Angeles’ Milennium Biltmore Hotel.
David & Peter were honored with the “Children’s Champion Award” for their work with LA’s Best. They were joined by LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa as well as Fred Willard, Dorris Roberts, Buzz Aldrin, Maria Canals-Barrera, Gregg Sulkin & Nicole Anderson. Buzz Aldrin also received special recognition at this year’s brunch celebration where he was presented with the “Inspiration Award”.
The soon to be 21 year old Henrie has recently spent a great deal of time giving back to the community by working with LA’s BEST through a program called “Actor’s Outreach”, where David has taught a series of ongoing improv workshops to the LA’sBEST students. Not only do the kids get a chance to hang out with with some of their favorite stars like David Henrie, but more importantly they are also given the chance to learn some important life skills through these workshops that promote self-confidence and self-esteem among the students.
