–EW broke the news earlier this week that Chace Crawford will no longer star in the remake of Footloose.
The original movie starred Kevin Bacon & Lori Singer and EW reports that the studio may be looking to replace Chace with an unknown.
Julianne Hough is still set to appear in the remake. After Kenny Ortega dropped out of directing it, the script was rewritten by writer/director Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow). Brewer’s redo, which some say is closer to the original film — about a town that’s outlawed dance and music — has been fully embraced by Paramount chief Adam Goodman.
