-The winners of the 35th Annual Gracie Awards were announced earlier this week.
Selena Gomez took home the award for Outstanding Female Rising Star in a Comedy Series for her work as “Alex Russo” on “Wizards of Waverly Place.” Shailene Woodley won the same award in the drama category for her work as “Amy Juergens” on “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” Peri Gilpin also won Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Drama Series for her role as “Kim Keeler” on “Make It or Break It.”
The Gracies strive to encourage the realistic and faceted portrayal of women in entertainment, commercials, news, features and other programs and are put on by the American Women in Radio & Television (AWRT). To see the complete list of winners go to thegracies.org.
