–Selena Gomez, who was recently named an ambassador of the United Nations Children’s Fund for Unicef is off spending a week in Ghana for the organization. The teenage star joined forces with UNICEF in 2008, speaking out on issues such as children’s rights, and now officials have made her an official representative of the charitable cause.
Thrilled and honored Gomez is determined to use her fame to make a difference.
She says, “Every day, 25,000 children die from preventable causes. I stand with UNICEF in the belief that we can change that number from 25,000 to zero.”
