Celebrity photographer and LIFE editor-at-large Jeff Vespa trailed the teenager as she jetted from her home to interviews to studio performances to an awards show, and found her to be gracious and gorgeous under even the most ridiculous time restraints.

On a picture of Miley talking with the Jonas Brothers, Vespa says: “there’s no real gossip there,” says Vespa. “It really just took place very quickly. She hugged them all, and it was all very nice and sweet, and that was basically it.”
