As many of you already know, on March 11 at the Diabetes Research Institute’s Carnival
for a Cure, Nick Jonas from the Jonas Brothers announced that he has Type 1 Diabetes.
I have seen many of my family members and friends struggle with diabetes and seeing Nick
give his announcement shed a new light of hope. Even though Nick has diabetes, he’s not letting
it slow him down. He has turned something that might bring a lot people down and even cause depression,
into something good. He is a strong role model and spokesperson for young and old alike with diabetes.
What I learned from Nick’s speech is that no matter what obstacles come your way, you don’t have to let them stop you from reaching
your dreams. On behalf of myself and SO-M, I just wanted to let Nick, his family and friends now how proud of him
I am and how amazing he is.
