Ross and a number of your favorite Disney Channel & Disney XD stars have teamed up for the “Show Some Heart” campaign, encouraging kindness and generosity towards others. All the stars have recorded special video messages to be posted on their Twitter feeds and @DisneyChannelPR beginning today, February 8. The popular stars share how they “Show Some Heart” and encourage others to share their own acts of kindness via #ShowSomeHeart.

DisneyChannel.com and DisneyXD.com will debut exclusive videos featuring Disney Channel and Disney XD stars sharing Valentine’s Day memories and fun messages, beginning February 13. Viewers can answer the call to action by sharing how they “Show Some Heart” on the websites.

Disney stars featured in the “ShowSomeHeart” video messages include: China Anne McClain (“A.N.T. James Franco Named Grand Marshal for 55th Annual Daytona 500

James Franco, who stars in Oz the Great and Powerful, will serve as Grand Marshal for the 55th Annual Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, Feb. 24 at Daytona International Speedway.

Franco will give the starting command, “Drivers start your engines,” in “The Great American Race.” He’ll also be introduced at the driver’s meeting, participate in pre-race ceremonies and ride in one of the Grand Marshal cars during the pace laps prior to the green flag of the 200-lap, 500-mile race.

“We’re excited to welcome James Franco and have him take part in the pre-race festivities for the Daytona 500,” Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III said. “In front of thousands of race fans and millions more watching on FOX, we’re looking forward to hearing James’ enthusiastic starting command to kick off the Daytona 500 and the new NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.”

You can catch James on the big screen in Oz The Great and Powerful when it hits theaters March 8, 2013. The film is directed by Sam Raimi and imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character.

When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting.

Franco joins the prestigious list of previous Daytona 500 Grand Marshals including John Travolta, Ben Affleck, Nicolas Cage, Kate Upton, Jane Lynch and Matthew McConaughey.

Selena Gomez Brings Adidas NEO to Fashion Week

Selena is one of the spokesperson for the brand and helped showcase the latest fashions as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC. The runway was full of fun, funky models including denim shorts, slouchy sweats, t-shirts, graffiti prints and varsity jackets. At the end of the show, Selena took the stage to thank the audience.

Jonas Brothers Launch We Day in Minneapolis

jonasbrothers-weday-020613 600 students at Patrick Henry High School in Minnesota were in for a treat today! They got a visit from the Jonas Brothers!

Kevin, Nick, and Joe visited the school to help launch Free the Children’s “We Day” program. We Day is an initiative of Free The Children, an international charity and educational partner that works with schools to implement the We Act program. “We Day” is a movement to get kids involved in volunteering and social change.

“We’ve been involved since our first We Day performance in 2009 in Toronto, and the memory of the energy the 18,000 youth who came to that stadium is still with us today,” said Joe. “What we remember most is that the kids were just as excited to see the bands as they were to see world leaders and activists—that’s not something you see every day.”

The Jonas Brothers will be playing a special concert for the program and the only way a student can go is to earn it through volunteering. Kids need to do one act of local and global service this year to earn one of the 18,000 seats in the concert.

ABC Family Picks Up “The Fosters” and “Twisted” Starring Maia Mitchell, Jake T Austin, Avan Jogia and More

The network just announced that they have picked up two new dramas set to premiere this Summer – “The Fosters” and “Twisted.”

“The Fosters” stars Jake T. Austin, Maia Mitchell, David Lambert, Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Danny Nucci & Cierra Ramirez and comes From executive producer Jennifer Lopez. The show is a one-hour drama about a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms.

“Twisted” (formerly “Socio”) is a one-hour mystery full of twists and turns that is centered on a charismatic 16-year-old with a troubled past who recently reconnected with his two female best friends from childhood. He becomes the prime suspect when a fellow student is surprisingly found dead in her home. The drama stars Avan Jogia (“Victorious”), Maddie Hasson (“The Finder”), Kylie Bunbury (“Prom”), Kimberly Quinn (“Terriers”), Sam Robards (“Treme,” “Gossip Girl”), newcomer Ashton Moio and Denise Richards (“Two and a Half Men”).

Demi Lovato Opens Up in ‘Cosmo on Campus’

demilovato-cosmocampus-020613 Demi Lovato looks beautiful on the cover of Cosmo on Campus, a spin-off of Cosmo in the UK.

In the issue, Demi opens up, via E!, the magazine about her eating disorder and how she is doing now. “I was about 12 or 13 when I developed my eating disorder, and at that time nobody in the public eye talked about their body issues,” Demi shared.

“I feel that if someone had admitted they had a problem, then I wouldn’t have gone down that route myself,” she continued. “That’s my goal in talking about my problems: I want to be the person for other girls that I needed to admire when I was looking for help and strength.”

One of the big ways Demi overcame her struggles was by learning to accept herself. “It’s OK to love your body the way it is and it’s OK to reach out for help if you have drug and alcohol problems, or if you’re self-harming or being bullied.”

Demi is in a better place now and shared that she is “where I can finally trust and love and be a better person for the man I am in a relationship with, instead of being a clingy girlfriend or getting jealous.”

The movie opens on February 14 and all the stars came out for the premiere including Julianne Hough, Josh Duhamel, Cobie Smulders, David Lyons, Noah Lomax, and Mimi Kirkland. The flick is based on the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name that tells the story of when mysterious young woman arrives in a small North Carolina town, her reluctance to join the tight knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller.

Also stepping out for the premiere were Ryan Seacrest, Debby Ryan, Trevor Jackson, Ashley Tisdale, Taylor Spreitler, Chelsea Kane, Jennette McCurdy, Zendaya, and many more.
