-Zac Efron chatted with MTV about his recent photoshoot for Interview magazine that had people saying “Wow!”
“We didn’t go in there with the intention of shaking things up,” the 21-year-old actor told us over the weekend about the controversial, steamy photos of himself and Lithuanian beauty Edita Vilkeviciute in the newest issue of Interview magazine. “At least, I didn’t.”
“It felt more artistic than anything I had done before,” Efron remembered. “So we just went with it.”
-Zac Efron sat down with E! News to talk about the rumors he’s done with musicals, 17 Again and more.
On Why He Chose 17 Again: “It was the most interesting choice.”
On If He’s Done With Musicals: “I’m not done with musicals. I love them so much and I’ve had so much fun making them in the past. It’s just right now at this particular moment it feels like it’s time to change it up. I gotta shake things up a little bit to keep things interesting for me…There’s a whole lot I still have to learn. I don’t want to be stagnant.”
On Who He Styled The Dad Like Parts of His Character After: “A lot of it was after my dad. I could see a lot of the lines, there was a speech about condoms…I just feel like my dad, at one point, had that conversation with me and my little brother, and always delivered it very well. He was very passionate about it.”

Zac recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly why he chose to drop out of Footloose: “I’m sure Footloose would have been a huge challenge,” Efron said, “but the actors that I love and the actors that work really hard in this industry are always shaking things up, trying new genres, acquiring new skill sets. That’s what’s always going to appeal to me: the unknown.”
Zac received the award for “Breakthrough Male of the Year” at the ShoWest 2009 Awards in Vegas last night.
-Zac Efron was honored with the “Breakthrough Performer of the Year” award at the ShoWest 2009 Awards and Banquet on Thursday evening in Las Vegas. Zac was honored for Hairspray and High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
-Zac Efron’s wax figure has been moved to the NYC location of Madame Tussaud’s. The figure was unveiled on Thursday morning and will be there for 3 months. If you’re in the area, be sure to go check it out! Also, time is running out to see the Jonas Brothers’ wax figures. They’re only there until May, and then it’s off to another location!
