-The movie premieres August 28th, but last night during the last part of the “Wizards vs. Vampires,” an exclusive clip premiered. In the clip, Justin & Alex (David Henrie & Selena Gomez) see the aftermath of Alex’s spell where she wishes her parents had never met. Are you excited for the movie?
-The cast of “Wizards of Waverly Place” is set to appear at the D23 Expo in Anaheim on September 13th. Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera and David DeLuise, and executive producer Peter Murietta will take part in “A Magical Afternoon with the cast of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’” at the largest Disney fan gathering ever. The D23 EXPO exclusive Q&A session provides a chance for fans to ask their favorite stars about the Emmy-nominated series and the Disney Channel Original Movie it has inspired.
The afternoon will include an exclusive preview screening of the “Wizards of Waverly Place” season premiere episode and a surprise musical performance.
Popular radio personality Ernie D from Radio Disney will join in the fun at “A Magical Afternoon with ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’” event. Ernie D will also make appearances with the Radio Disney on-air team – Jake, Candice and Blake – Thursday, September 10 through Sunday, September 13 (schedule to be announced) on the D23 EXPO floor. In addition, the Radio Disney Road Crew will be on hand with the “JONAS” Fan Van, playing music and inviting young fans to win prizes.
Tickets to the D23 EXPO are available at www.D23Expo.com. Admission includes access to all experiences and entertainment at the D23 EXPO and can be purchased for single days or for the full four days of festivities. Admission is $37 for a one-day adult ticket and $27 for children 3-12. Four-day passes are $111 for adults and $81 for children. Members of D23: The Official Community for Disney Fans will receive a discount on up to four same-day admissions, as well as early entry to each day of the D23 EXPO for themselves and their guests.
-Selena Gomez, David Henrie and Jake T Austin (showing off a shorter hair do) visited the ladies of The View on Wednesday morning. The cast chatted about how they found out about their Emmy nomination, the movie, and more. Jake also talked about when he first met Whoopi Goldberg and how he got the role of “Diego” from “Go Diego Go.” He even did the voice.
After the show, David tweeted: Leaving the view! How was it???. Jake tweeted: The view was awesome I had a good time. Check it out below.
-The cast of “Wizards of Waverly Place” chatted with the NY Post recently and revealed that in the new movie, which airs Aug 28, one of the three Russo kids will wind up inheriting the familial magical powers — at least temporarily. “There is a mini wizards competition, but it’s not the final one and it’s just a temporary result,” hints Jake T. Austin.
The cast also revealed which of the wizards they would choose to keep their powers:
David Henrie: “[Justin's] the most responsible, he takes his studying seriously and he’ll make the right decision at an important time.”
Jennifer Stone: “I really like someone who works hard and is really disciplined, so I think Justin should win. It’d be hilarious if Max ended up with the powers because he’s the one that everybody least expects.”
Selena Gomez: Although she picks Justin, too, she says, “It would be interesting to see Max win because there’s something hidden in him underneath. He’s really paying attention. [Alex] is so independent. She loves magic, but it’s not her No. 1 priority, whereas Justin lives and breathes it, and Max is there and does the work. Alex can find other things to do with her life and her friends and family.”
Jake T Austin: “I would love it if, in the last episode, our long lost brother or sister that we never knew about came in and won the power … and then did a spin-off.”
Which wizard do you hope wins the powers in the end?

-David Henrie does a face plant into a puddle of mud while filming a scene for “Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.” In the latest DCOM extra, the stars talk about the action of the film.
When we chatted with Jennifer Stone recently, she dished that her favorite scene was the subway car scene. She dished to SO-M: “I’m a big fan of action movies and it was my first stunt thing I got to do. We had to like slide and fall and it was very action involved. I was very excited about that. I felt like Angelina Jolie in that scene.”

-The nominees for the 61st Annual Primetime Emmys were announced today. Battling it out for the “Outstanding Children’s Program” award will be three fan favorites: “Hannah Montana,” “iCarly,” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.” That is going to be a tough race!
Selena tweeted about the nomination: Wizards of Waverly Place got nominated for an Emmy!!!!!!!!!
