-Hi everyone! If you’ve noticed, I haven’t had time to update the site as much as I have in the past. That’s because I’ve been busy working on a new project.

What is it you ask? Cambio.com!! I am proud and honored to be a part of something that is going to be big. Everything you loved about Shine On, I’ll be bringing to cambio.com. That means covering events, posting news, anything and everything. I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have visited and supported the site the past 5 years. Without all of you, I wouldn’t have this great opportunity. I also want to say a big thank you to those who have helped out in one way or another with the site. I have run this site mainly by myself but I have had help in certain areas, so a big thank you to Crystal & Nelly A, Michelle & Sarah S, Shelby C, Veronica K, the Bolts and others.

Also a big thank you to all the stars that have let us interview them. I’ve always tried to make the site’s interviews fun and interesting and all of you were great sports.

So thank you all again. There are still a few interviews that I need to post that were done last month before the merge, so there will be a few updates here still. We’ve got the scoop! First though, this year MTV will be teaming up with famed producer Les Grossman for the awards show, which airs live on Sunday, June 6th at 9pm ET/8pm C. You can check out a new promo below, featuring Tom Cruise.

The celebrity nominees, presenters and performers will be receiving a custom-designed gift bag for attending the big awards. This year, celebrities will receive a variety of Hollywood’s newest and hottest fashion necessities, cool technology, and exclusive items.

-MTV has greenlit two new series. Filled with suspense, horror and the struggle to discover one’s true identity, MTV puts a modern spin on one of the most popular classic films of the eighties, MGM’s “Teen Wolf”. The reinvention comes alive as a sexy thriller set against the drama of high school life with a forbidden, romantic love story at its core.

Additionally, MTV will try it’s hand at a North American adaptation of the U.K. drama series “Skins”. “Teen Wolf” will commence production this summer with 12 one-hour episodes. “Skins” will also begin production this summer with 10 one-hour episodes.

“Teen Wolf,” stars Tyler Posey (“Maid in Manhattan,” “Brothers and Sisters”), as the newly bitten werewolf, ‘Scott McCall,’ Dylan O’Brien as his best friend ‘Stiles,’ Crystal Reed as the mysterious new girl in town, ‘Allison,’ and Tyler Hoechlin (“Road to Perdition,” “7th Heaven”) as the older and possibly quite dangerous werewolf, ‘Derek Hale.’ Always an outsider and often unnoticed, Scott McCall yearns to be recognized in some small way that takes him out of his typical state of high school anonymity. When his best friend, Stiles, convinces him to go into the woods one night to join a police search for a dead body, Scott encounters a creature in the darkness. Narrowly escaping an attack with a vicious bite in his side, the next day brings strange surprises for Scott at school and his life will never be the same.

Created by father and son team at Stormdog Films, Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain, the ground-breaking series “Skins” features an ensemble cast as they navigate complex relationships, the politics of friendship and difficulties of daily life in their formative years. Elsley will be writing and executive producing the adapted version— which, like the U.K version, will be largely influenced by teenagers. In 2009, MTV landed the US broadcast rights to the critically-acclaimed U.K. program.

Unknown teenagers have been cast in the lead roles and real teens will help write the storylines, similar to how Elsley wrote the UK series, now in its 5th season. The network will work collaboratively with the series producers to preserve the authenticity of the British version. The series, which aired on E4 in the UK, quickly became a commercial and critical success, winning the 2009 BAFTA Audience Award, which was voted on by the public, and Best Drama Series at the 2008 Broadcast Awards.

Are you excited for MTV’s new shows?

-Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time star Jake Gyllenhaal dropped by Radio Disney this week to talk about his new action flick.

In his takeover, Jake responded to a question from a Radio Disney listener about what his ideal weekend would include. He shared, “I love hanging out with my friends. I love playing sports, being active, being outside. And my ideal weekend would be going for really long bike rides, I love going out into nature, maybe going for a hike. And eating really good food, because I like eating food that I grow.” The star added jokingly, “…and also jumping from building to building!” in reference to the action-packed “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.”

Jake also revealed his favorite meal to cook is “Any fresh vegetable with pasta in it…with a lot of cheese. The more cheese the better!”

-Maggie Q takes a hostage in this new still from the CW’s new fall show, “Nikita.”

It was announced at the CW Upfronts today that the action-packed show will take the 9pm time slot on Thursday nights following “The Vampire Diaries.”

When she was a deeply troubled teenager, Nikita was rescued from death row by a secret U.S. agency known only as Division, who faked her execution and told her she was being given a second chance to start a new life and serve her country. What they didn’t tell her was that she was being trained as a spy and assassin. Ultimately, Nikita was betrayed and her dreams shattered by the only people she thought she could trust. Now, after three years in hiding, Nikita is seeking retribution and making it clear to her former bosses that she will stop at nothing to expose and destroy their covert operation. For the time being, however, Division continues to recruit and train other young people, erasing all evidence of their former lives and turning them into cold and efficient killers. One of these new recruits, Alex, is just beginning to understand what lies ahead for her and why the legendary Nikita made the desperate decision to run. The series stars Maggie Q as Nikita, Lyndsy Fonseca as Alex, Shane West as Michael, Aaron Stanford as Birkhoff, Ashton Holmes as Thom, Tiffany Hines as Jaden, with Melinda Clarke as Amanda and Xander Berkeley as Percy. NIKITA is from Warner Bros. Television in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, with executive producers Craig Silverstein (“Bones,” “K-Ville”), Danny Cannon (“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Chuck”), McG (“Supernatural,” “Chuck,” “The O.C.,” “Charlie’s Angels”), and Peter Johnson (“Supernatural,” “Chuck”). The pilot was directed by Danny Cannon.
