Nina Dobrev Shares a Joke with Esquire and Raps About Suntan Lotion with Nicholas Braun (Video)

Nina Dobrev strikes a pose in her bedroom for Esquire magazine’s Me in My Place series.

The Bulgarian born actress also showed off her sense of humor by sharing one of her favorite jokes with the mag. Here’s one:

A grasshopper walks into a bar. The bartender says, “Hey, we have a drink named after you.” The grasshopper says, “You have a drink named Steve?”

Don’t think that joke is funny? Then you have to watch Nina’s new Funny or Die video. “The Vampire Diaries” actress teamed up with one of our favorite funny guys, Nicholas Braun, to rap about the importance of suntan lotion. You can catch Nina and Nick together later this year in Perks of Being a Wallflower.

What is your favorite joke?

Nicholas Braun and Sophia Bush: New Comedies Coming to CBS!

Congrats to Nicholas Braun and Sophia Bush! The two actors (who also co-starred together in Chalet Girl) are both returning to TV!

CBS just announced their new lineup of shows which include the comedies “Friend Me” and “Partners.”

“Friend Me” is a multicamera half-hour comedy that revolves around twentysomething best friends (Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Nicholas Braun), who move from their hometown of Bloomington, Ind., to L.A. to begin their new lives working at Groupon. Evan has trouble breaking his old slothful habits, and rather than going out after work to explore the town and meet new people, he prefers to play online poker with his friends back home. Rob has different plans and is determined to drag Evan, kicking and screaming, along with him. Parvesh Cheena, Tim Robinson and Dan Ahdoot fill out the cast.

“Partners” is a comedy that revolves around architects Charlie (David Krumholtz) and Louis’ (Michael Urie) friendship, which has lasted longer than either of their romantic relationships and almost seems like a weird marriage. When Charlie decides to propose to his girlfriend, Louis’ neurotic attempts to be supportive nearly result in the breakup of his own relationship.
The pair is joined by Sophia Bush and Brandon Routh.

We’re looking forward to both comedies! Sophia also attended the 4th Annual Foster Mothers’s Day Celebration thrown by Foster Care Counts on May 13.

Happy Birthday Nick Braun!

-Happy birthday to Nicholas Braun!! He turns 22 today.

Nick recently returned from Europe where he was filming Chalet Girl with Ed Westwick. He recently told us a little about his role in the movie: “It’s this sweet little romantic comedy. I play a guy named Nigel who is sort of a goofy American boy, 21, sort of the type of guy that just wants to get laid, but has no tact. And it’s really fun. I’m actually working with the director of a few episodes of 10 Things, this guy, Phil Traill. And Ed Westwick is starring in it and Bill Nighy, a really well-known English guy, so it’s fun. I’m working with all British people. It’s been interesting.”

We’re still bummed we won’t get to see Nick every week on “10 Things I Hate About You,” but be sure to tune in Mondays on ABC Family at 8pm EST to catch the last 5 episodes.

No More ’10 Things’ for ABC Family

-We’re sad! One of our favorite shows, “10 Things I Hate About You,” will not be returning for a second season.

Producer & writer Carter Covington tweeted this morning: Sad news… ABCFamily canceled the show :-( Thanks 2 our AMAZING fans – U R the reason I do this! Enjoy the last 5 eps – they’re fantastic!

A rep for the show confirmed the sad news to Zap2it as well. We’re totally bummed for the cast and crew. This show was witty, original and just all around enjoyable.

Don’t worry though. There are still 5 new episodes left, so be sure to watch on Monday nights at 8pm EST. Sadly, the show will end without the proper closure for the characters. We’ve had some great times interviewing the cast of the show and visiting the set. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for someone to save the show.

Kyle Kaplan, who played Cameron’s bff Michael on the show tweeted: Sad to see #10 things go. Had so much fun with everyone on the cast. Enjoy the last 5 eps!

Nick Braun & Ethan Peck: 10 Things They Like About Girls

-Popstar! recently chatted with Ethan Peck & Nick Braun from ABC Family’s “10 Things I Hate About You.”

Find out what 10 things the guys look for in girls below. Also inside, their dating dealbreakers.

On tonight’s new episode, “Don’t Trust Me,” having admitted that she was the mysterious blonde who kissed Joey (Chris Zylka), Bianca (Meaghan Martin) is on the outs with Chastity (Dana Davis) and the in crowd, and Kat (Lindsey Shaw) invites Patrick (Ethan Peck) for a family dinner during which the duo dishes up a fun prank to play on Walter (Larry Miller).

Meanwhile, Joey and Bianca decline the superlative, “Cutest Couple,” in an effort to keep the peace with Chastity, and Cameron (Nick Braun) relishes the fact that he was named “Mr. Dependable” alongside a school hottie. Ultimately, Bianca has to decide if her “real friends” would make her choose between Joey and them.

“Don’t Trust Me” airs tonight, April 5 at 8pm EST on ABC Family.

Meaghan Martin & Nicholas Braun Interview: Expect Lots of Kissing

-We have a funny interview to share with you all!

On Monday, we had the chance to chat with Meaghan Martin & Nicholas Braun on a conference call interview. We had the chance to ask them quite a few questions, and these two are hilarious.

Meaghan and Nick talked about the upcoming season of “10 Things I Hate About You,” which premieres on March 29 at 8pm EST on ABC Family, what other projects their working on (Nick is in Austria right now filming Chalet Girl, Joe Jonas & Demi Lovato, Meaghan’s hair and love for Harry Potter, and Nick even beatboxed during the interview. Some of our favorite answers are to what shows they’d guest star on, what kind of roles they want to play in the future, and what they would do if they could write an episode of “10 Things.”

Check out the full interview below. (Note: Some of the statements from Nick & Meaghan were made jokingly) Also, don’t forget that you can get the first 10 episodes for FREE on iTunes.

SO-M: The show is obviously based on a popular movie and a lot of spin-offs or shows based on movies haven’t done so well. What is it about your show that you think has made it so successful since it has been liked by critics and fans?

Meaghan: Well, we don’t have vampires like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but I think having Nick Braun has made the show a successful spin-off ultimately.
Nick: Oh man, you know how to make me blush over the phone.
Meaghan: I try.
Nick: I mean, what’s made it so successful, I think that we tap into a very real part of what high school kids are going through and what sisters are going through. I think people want to watch that. Aside from that, just to give it right back to her, Meaghan Martin is beautiful to watch on screen.
Meaghan: Well, thanks, Nick.
Nick: That is one camera friendly face right there.

SO-M: I love your guys’ chemistry. Did you find that happened right off the bat or did you have to work towards that?

Meaghan: We get along really well.
Nick: I had to take her on a lot of picnics.
Meaghan: Yes. He had to woo me.
Nick: I really had to woo her into liking me. No, it seemed pretty seamless. The pilot was cool. I mean, Meg’s like my sister. I feel like in a year and change that we’ve been working together, we’ve gone through a lot and so I think it only helps too, like our off-screen relationship to our on-screen relationship.

SO-M: Nick, we hear that you’re quite a prankster. Can you share any pranks that you’ve pulled while filming?

Nick: Oh man, am I a prankster or do I just like to see people squirm? Well, let’s see, what have I done? [Jokingly] Yes, I set Meaghan’s trailer on fire once. That was not funny. Gosh, I can’t even remember what pranks I’ve done, but we try to keep it pretty light on set because the show is so casual. Well, it’s not casual, but it’s a comedy and so we’re all sort of just messing with each other and joking around and it’s a very light set. I’m in Austria right now doing a movie and everybody’s German and it’s very serious and like—
Meaghan: Those Germans… [Laughs]
Nick: It’s very strict, and I’m like yes, it is time to eat some weinerschnitzel. It’s so much lighter on the set of 10 Things. But yes, that’s the gist.

SO-M: And on Twitter, Meaghan, we saw that you posted some pictures of your hair change. Was that for another role coming up or just for fun?

Meaghan: No, I was just really bored and decided I didn’t want to be blonde anymore since I had some time off.
SO-M: Nice. It looks good.
Nick: It looks great. It looks really good.
Meaghan: Well, thank you so much.

SO-M: If the writers gave you the power to like write an episode of 10 Things, what would you want to happen on it?

Meaghan: I know exactly what I would want. I would want it to be a dream sequence where we all play each other’s characters.
SO-M: What character would you want to play?
Meaghan: Patrick, obviously.
Nick: A dream sequence. I like that, but I think I would set it in the 80’s.
Meaghan: Fast forward. We’re all like 50 years old. That would be fun, too.
Nick: Yes. Oh, that would be cool, too. But I like the baby version of “10 Things I Hate About You.”

SO-M: If you guys could have anybody guest star on the show, who would you want to come in and what kind of character would you want them to play?

Meaghan: Neil Patrick Harris. I’d want him to be our teacher.
Nick: That would be so funny. He can play Doogie Howser, the school doctor.
Meaghan: Yes! He could be the school nurse. We should make that happen immediately. It would be a musical episode. He should have to sing.
Nick: That would be awesome. Who would I have? I would have Queen Latifah come on and she could play my mom.

SO-M: What kind of things do you guys like to do in your free time?

Meaghan: I like to bake, read Harry Potter, obsess over Harry Potter in many ways, especially now that the theme park is opening at Universal Studios and I’m going to scream of sheer excitement.
Nick: Oh my, you’re going to have a blast there.
Meaghan: Can you even imagine?
Nick: Oh. She’s going to be like a little kid at a candy store. What do I do in my free time? I probably play too many video games. I play a lot of Call of Duty. I play some tennis. I play some golf. I hang out with Meaghan a lot.
Meaghan: Obviously.
Nick: I lunch with her like five days a week. Actually, before I came out to Austria, we were all hanging out so much, us, the cast.
Meaghan: Yes, we were. We were with each other all the time.
Nick: They’re some of my best friends, our cast. It’s so cool. We get along really, really well outside of shooting.
Meaghan: When we’re shooting we don’t get along at all. We fight constantly.
Nick: Yes, we challenge each other’s artistic integrity all the time. [Laughs]
Meaghan: I thought you were going to say we challenge each other to duels and I was like oh, okay…
Nick: Duels in the courtyard at lunch.

SO-M: Meaghan said earlier she’s going to be singing on an episode and, Nick, you told us a long time ago that you also sing. Will we ever get to hear you sing for real?

Nick: Yes, I do sing. And I will sing in this season of 10 Things actually, which was really fun and it’s—yes, I’m not going to give you too much because it’s a really cool moment for Cameron. But it was scary singing. I don’t know how you do it, Meaghan, in front of thousands of people. It’s really scary, but it was great. I think it turned out really well.
Meaghan: He did a great job. He should not have been scared at all. He was fabulous.

SO-M: If you had to tell people why they should tune into these next ten episodes, what would you tell them?

Meaghan: I would say that they should tune in because who doesn’t want to watch the entire cast making out with different people for the better part of 22 minutes?
Nick: There is a lot of kissing this season, yes. Yes, to that, my character, Cameron, has his first kiss this season, his first relationship. But better than that, his first kiss. And it is super special.

We can’t wait for the new season. Read what the other interviews asked the duo after the jump…

Kyle Kaplan Interview Featuring Meaghan Martin & Debby Ryan

-We recently asked Kyle Kaplan to tell us about the new episodes of “10 Things I Hate About You” and the interview turned into probably one of our most fun interviews. Two special guests even decided to crash the interview: Meaghan Martin & Debby Ryan.

On what to expect in the new episodes: We really get to kind of get to dive into the characters. I know you’re going to find out something big about Michael. Make sure to tune in. You’ve got good old “Katrick” going strong. You’ll learn more about their relationship. Nicholas Braun, “Cameron,” has some good surprises this season as well.

On if he’s similar to his character: I think we’re both really crazy and we both kind of always push it to the limit. “Michael Bernstein” & Kyle Kaplan…the same person.

On his favorite type of music: I really like funk music. Anything with a crazy bass line…got me sold on that.

Check out the full interview below to also see what Kyle would think about Debby guest starring on “10 Things” and what he thinks about Meaghan. Be sure to tune into the mid-season premiere of “10 Things I Hate About You” on March 29 on ABC Family.

Ethan Peck & Lindsey Shaw Interview: ’10 Things’ Coming March 29

-We know we can’t wait for March 29. Earlier this week we had the chance to participate in a group interview with Lindsey Shaw & Ethan Peck from ABC Family’s “10 Things I Hate About You.”

The show returns with all new episodes on March 29 at 8pm EST. Check out the Q&A below.

SO-M: You two have such a great chemistry on screen. Is that something you found right off the bat, or was it something that just progressed over the first ten episodes?
Ethan Peck: What do you think, Lindsey?
Lindsey Shaw: I definitely think that was a progression. I don’t know if any of you can tell, but Ethan is a man of few words, and when I first met him, he was true to his persona. He was just silent and observant with his backpack and his hi-tops, and so it was interesting getting to know him. I think the first time we actually had a chance to sit down and talk was episode seven of the first season when we were doing that rooftop scene. Remember when we were outside until midnight?
Ethan: Yes.
Lindsey: That’s really the first time our characters actually talked on the show, so I guess that was okay, but it’s really kind of mirrored the communication up until that point.

SO-M: For you, Ethan, Patrick is probably the most mysterious character on the show and we don’t know a lot about him. In these next ten episodes, are we going to get more of a look inside him and what his back story is?
Ethan: A little bit. You’ll start to see some clues as to what his life is like, but it’s really being kept in the dark.

SO-M: In the first ten episodes each of your characters kind of only interacted with a few of the other characters. From what I’ve seen in the new episodes, there’s a lot more interaction with the other main characters. What was that like getting to work with everybody else?
Lindsey: It is so wonderful. I feel like Meaghan and I work two different shifts on the show. I always come in for the morning, and Meaghan is always there late at night, and so really it’s this whole other storyline show, everything that you never get to see that you just have no idea about, and when you finally get to pull some of those in your direction and interact with them, it’s just fresh and new and it brings something new out of you. It brings something new out of them. It just feels really fresh, so I really enjoyed. I especially enjoyed working with Nicholas Braun. I got to work with him quite a bit this season, so that was so awesome.
Ethan: Yes, I didn’t really get to work with too many other characters, but there were scenes that there were more characters in that I was included in, and it’s so exciting because I love everybody so much in this show and get along with all of them so well, and we’re all itching to have more scenes with each other, as Lindsey said, like with Nicholas, with Chris, or with Meaghan, and I’m hoping to see a lot more of that in hopes that we have more seasons to do.

SO-M: The cast seems pretty close. Can you give maybe a random fact about a few of your co-stars or each other?
Lindsey: Ethan listens to classical music in his trailer all day, every day.
Ethan: No, I don’t.
Lindsey: Yes, you do.
Ethan: Chris Zylka speaks Russian.
Lindsey: Meaghan bakes banana bread for people, for the crew, for her cast. She is a wonderful baker, and Nick is a great freestyle rapper.
Ethan: Yes, he is.
Lindsey: Nick is amazing at throwing down a little verse.

SO-M: If you had to sum up these ten episodes and tell people why they should watch, what would you say to them?
Lindsey: I think you should watch because you’re going to be more entertained by this than anything else that’s on Mondays… at 8:00pm… on ABC Family.
Ethan: Nice.
Lindsey: Thanks for supplementing that with something, Ethan.
Ethan: Yes, of course.
Lindsey: That sounds like not a reason to watch. You were supposed to come in with something much better!

Such a fun interview with those two. Keep reading to find out what the other interviewers asked the pair about the new season, acting, maybe becoming a biker gang and more!
