Taylor Swift Talks Songwriting Behind-the-Scenes of Diet Coke Commercial

taylorswift-dietcoke-031013Taylor Swift is the new spokesperson for Diet Coke and you can get a sneak peek at her new commercial below!

In a behind-the-scenes interview, Taylor opened up about her songwriting. “I think for me, I’ve always written songs from the same place,” she explains. “I started writing when I was 12 and I just wrote songs about my life the way that I saw it. That somehow made my life make more sense to me. Going from 12 to writing songs about my life to being 23 now and writing songs about my life, a lot has changed about my life but the reason I write songs about my life is the same.”

Taylor will also be bringing Diet Coke along with her on her upcoming Red tour, so what can fans expect? “I think one of my favorite things about the RED tour is that one of the main focuses I had was incorporating the element of surprise, and incorporating the unexpected. I really like to think that a good concert can be like a good book; it can take you away, it can take you to a different place and help you escape, and I think that’s the main goal for me – helping the fans to escape, if only just for one night.”

On March 13, Taylor will debut a video series featuring lots of behind-the-scenes content of her tour, music videos and more on Diet Coke’s Facebook page. Taylor’s new Music That Moves spot is scheduled to debut in April.

Jesse McCartney Covers ‘Glamoholic’ March Issue

jessemccartney-glamoholic-030713Jesse McCartney is looking good as he takes over the cover of Glamoholic magazine again for the March issue!

Jesse is busy shooting the new season of Lifetime’s “Army Wives” and opened up to the magazine about the challenges of playing a soldier and his character. “I play Private Tim Truman,” Jesse shared. “He’s a young Army recruit from a small town in Illinois, whose passion in life is to go and fight for his country.”

And you can bet that playing a soldier took some training. “They put us through bootcamp when we arrived in South Carolina and teamed us up with multiple military advisors. On top of being physically fit for the job, I wanted to be well educated on the lingo, the ranking system and how to handle weapons, so I watched many films and read some books that I knew would shed some light on what I needed to do in order to bring authenticity to the young soldier.”

And while we’re very excited to see JMac back on the small screen, we’re still itching to get our hands on his long awaited 4th album. So what can we expect? “I’m writing and producing my 4th studio album. I’ve been working on tons of new music all across the board. Some pop stuff, some more R&B stuff. There will be a lot of material.”

We can’t wait! Click inside for more of Jesse’s Glamoholic spread and be sure to check out the full issue HERE.

Selena Gomez Talks “Fun Dance Album” and ‘Spring Breakers’

selenagomez-tvint-030713Selena Gomez is gearing up for a big year. Not only does she have a new album expected to drop, but she has a few movies releasing including Spring Breakers and the “Wizards of Waverly Place” reunion special!

The 20-year-old recently caught up with Teen Vogue where she dished on just what we’ll hear with the new album. “It is so much fun. I made a huge fun dance record that I’m so proud of. I got to record twenty or so great songs and work with a bunch of different producers and they’re all really fun, pop songs; a little Ellie Goulding-ish, a little island-y feel. It’s a really fun pop record. I’m super stoked for it. It’s kind of been hush-hush about it and I’m excited for the single to come out and for my fans to hear it.”

Wow, definitely sounds like it will be different from the albums we’ve hear from her in the past. The first single is set for an April release. We can’t wait! Something else that will be different for Sel is her role in the buzzed about Spring Breakers.

Selena explained why it was important for her to take on such a challenging role saying, “I wanted to make sure that the project I did after my show ended was the right one for me. Getting a script from Harmony Korine and working with a director like him was a really incredible opportunity. I learned so much. It started as a little indie movie, so I’m really proud of it. And being able to experience that with three other girls was great. It was a really important time in my life and I’m really thankful for it.”

And does she relate to her character at all? “I feel like the baby of the group and my character was the baby of the group as well,” she shared. “So in that way, I do relate to it. I did look at the girls as older sisters. They were super sweet and protective over me just as they were to the character. That was organic. But she’s a little bit more timid and naïve than I would say I am.”

Read the full interview here. Be sure to catch Spring Breakers when it opens in NY/LA March 15 and wider release March 25. “The Wizards Return: Alex vs Alex” also premieres on the Disney Channel March 15.

Selena Gomez Opens Up About Love in “Harper’s Bazaar” April 2013 Issue

selenaharpers-030613Selena Gomez dons stripes and a smile for the April 2013 cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

Selena opened up in her interview about love and famous pals like Taylor Swift and also posed for a beautiful spread shot by Terry Richardson.

Check out some interview highlights below and for more of Selena’s cover story, go here and be sure to pick up the issue on newsstands March 19!

On love: To me, love is normal. Of course, you see Jay and Beyoncé and you’re like, ‘Oh, my gosh, they’re perfect for each other,’ but at the end of the day their love is just like everybody else’s love. They have problems, I’m sure, and they solve them, like anybody else. So to make it as normal as possible—in such an abnormal lifestyle—was super important to both of us. Which was great …That’s how it should be.”

“I believe in love—yes, I’m one of those girls,” she says. “Most of my friends believe in love. I went out with Katy Perry last night. She’s so fun and awesome, but it’s cool to see someone older believe in love too. She is all about it, and that’s how I will always be. I believe in stories like, ‘Oh, I met him in Starbucks.’”

On her friends like Taylor Swift: It’s good to have both. It’s great to just pick up a phone and call Taylor and say, ‘I have people following me, and I’m having a bad day,’ but if I were to say that to someone else, it’s like, ‘Oh, boo hoo.’ But it’s nice to have people back home that grew up with me too.

On trusting people: It’s hard for me to tell myself to trust people and be open, because I don’t. That’s one of the negative things about this industry, that makes you very scared of everybody and their motives. It’s sad, but that’s how you have to protect yourself.

Taylor Swift Opens Up About Dating Life and Rumors in April Issue of ‘Vanity Fair’

taylorswift-vanityfair-030513Taylor Swift is getting candid about her dating life in the April issue of Vanity Fair.

The 23-year-old is featured on the cover and reveals to the mag, “if you want some big revelation, since 2010 I have dated exactly two people.” Who are those two people? Conor Kennedy and Harry Styles. She continues, “[t]he fact that there are slide shows of a dozen guys that I either hugged on a red carpet or met for lunch or wrote a song with. . . it’s just kind of ridiculous. It’s why I have to avoid the tabloid part of our culture, because they turn you into a fictional character.”

So what about the fact that Taylor writes quite a lot of songs about her exes and isn’t afraid to speak about them? “For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated—a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way—that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist.”

While Taylor’s romance with Harry Styles didn’t last too long, there were rumors that she was taking it to the next level by buying a house in London to be near him. “People say that about me, that I apparently buy houses near every boy I like—that’s a thing that I apparently do,” Taylor said. “If I like you I will apparently buy up the real-estate market just to freak you out so you leave me. One of these things I say to myself to calm myself down when I feel like it’s all too much . . . If there’s a pregnancy rumor, people will find out it’s not true when you wind up not being pregnant, like nine months from now, and if there’s a house rumor, they’ll find out it’s not true when you are actively not ever spotted at that house.”

We love that Taylor is being so honest in this interview. To read more, go here and be sure to pick up the April issue for the full cover story. Also below, check out Taylor’s performance for “Live on the Seine.”
