Cameron Monaghan Joins “Vampire Academy”

Cameron Monaghan, Sami Gayle, Ashley Charles, and Claire Foy are the latest to join the film based on the best-selling book series by Richelle Mead.

The movie follows Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch), a 17-year-old girl who has a mental and spiritual bond with her vampire best friend Lissa (Lucy Fry). The two girls attend a special school for vampires who struggle to retain some humanity while other Vampires become more feral.

Cameron will play Mason Ashford, best friend to Rose, who becomes a romantic interest while Sami will play Mia, the nemesis in the books.

Ansel Elgort Offered Role of Gus in ‘The Fault in Our Stars’

It looks like the 19-year-old is set to go from playing Shailene Woodley’s brother to playing her lover!

According to Entertainment Weekly, Ansel has been offered the coveted role of Augustus “Gus” Waters in the film adaptation of John Gren’s bestseller The Fault In Our Stars. Shailene Woodley plays the female lead Hazel.

“Ansel is whip-smart and uber-charismatic and everything I dreamed for Augustus Waters,” John Green tells EW in an exclusive statement. “I am by nature a cautious pessimist, but I’ll just say it: Now that we have Shailene and Ansel, I am completely, unreservedly psyched about this movie.”

Director Josh Boone tells EW: “Ansel Elgort is the epitome of the boy John Green brought to life so vividly in his novel and he truly embodies the character traits we admire so much about Gus. His humor, sensitivity, honesty and confidence floored us. Watching him with Shailene was like seeing the film for the first time. Hearing then say okay to each other was incredibly moving. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have found our Gus.”

Ansel can be seen next in the remake of Carrie this fall and currently filming Divergent where he plays Caleb Prior, Tris’ (Woodley) brother. Says The Fault in Our Stars producer Wyck Godfrey: ”We were all swept away by the humor, charm, and aching vulnerability Ansel brought to his portrayal of Gus. His performance completely annihilated our concerns about his playing Caleb in Divergent with Shailene, and we are confident that the fans of Fault will fall in love with him the same way that Hazel does–slowly, and then all at once.”

The Fault in Our Stars follows the beautiful and tragic story of Hazel and Gus, two teens who meet in a cancer support group.

‘Divergent’ Sequel ‘Insurgent’ Gets Release Date and Screenwriter!

insurgent-film-050813 Divergent is currently filming and now we have exciting news regarding its sequel!

Insurgent is the second book in Veronica Roth’s hit series and will be hitting the big screen on March 21, 2014 according to Deadline. That’s not the only good news!

Summit has given Brian Duffield the task of writing the script for the fim. He previously wrote Jane Got a Gun starring Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor. The second film continues the journey of Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) as war now looms. Sides will be chosen, secrets will emerge, and Tris will risk everything as she struggles to harness her incredible power.

The news that a script for the second film is underway means that Summit is betting big on the first film to bring in the big bucks, and we have a feeling it will!

Callan McAuliffe Lands Lead Role in ‘Our Robot Overlords’

callanmcauliffe-overlords-050813 It’s a big week for Callan McAuliffe! Not only can you see him as a young Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby, but he’s just landed a leading role.

According to THR, the Australian actor will take on a lead in the sci-fi flick Our Robot Overlords alongside Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson.

The film centers on a teen (McAuliffe) who gathers a group of teens together to search for his long lost father in the midst of a war between humans and robots. The teen discovers a way to fight back and he realizes that there’s more to this war than his own family.

Shooting begins June 3 in Ireland. Congrats Callan!

Zac Efron Shows Off His Abs on ‘Townies’ Set

Once again, Zefron was spotted on the set of the comedy Townies showing some skin! He was filming scenes in an open button down and sweatpants while showing off some basketball tricks. “High School Musical” and 17 Again flashbacks anyone?

Zac was also photographed skateboarding and filming scenes in a window sill. We have to say, Zac definitely makes a convincing frat guy!

We caught up with Savannah at the Zooey Magazine Crafts & Cocktails even where she dished all about the film and the cool space training she got to do.

We also tried to get her to dish about the fourth season of “Big Time Rush,” but she kept it pretty secretive.

Space Warriors is in select theaters across the country now and premieres on the Hallmark Channel May 31st as part of their new Friday “Walden Family Theater” night.

‘The Hunger Games’ Star Dayo Okeniyi Joining ‘Endless Love’

dayookeniyi-endlesslove-050413 Dayo Okeniyi is trading in the dangers of the arena of The Hunger Games for the dangers of an obsessive relationship in Endless Love.

Dayo is in final negotiations to join Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde in the remake of Endless Love. He will play Alex’s character’s “mischievous and daredevil best friend.”

The film is based on the book of the same name about teens in a love triangle that turns a dark and disastrous corner. If you watch the movie made back in the 80s, we never really saw any of the main character David’s friends, so this will definitely be a different interpretation of the book, maybe one that’s even more true to the story.

Brenton Thwaites and Nat Wolff: Possible Gus In ‘The Fault In Our Stars’?

brentonthwaites-natwolff-faultstars Shailene Woodley won the coveted role of Hazel in the movie adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars and it looks like the search to find the perfect Gus has begun!

According to Variety, five guys are rumored to be testing for the role of Augustus “Gus” Waters this weekend.

Australian hottie Brenton Thwaites, Nat Wolff, “Melissa & Joey” star Nick Robinson, Noah Silver and Ansel Elgort are said to be testing to play the former basketball player who loses his leg to cancer and meets Hazel in a cancer support group.

While FOX has not commented on the rumors, Nat Wolff took to twitter to send a link of an article and adding “I like this article.”

We think that Brenton would be a good fit and maybe even Nick. Nat could pull it off but we don’t think he has quite the right look for Gus who is described as, basically, a heartthrob. We also think it’d be a little weird to see Ansel in the role since he is already starring opposite Shailene in Divergent as her brother.

Bella Thorne to Star as Adam Sandler’s Daughter in ‘Blended’

The “Shake It Up” star will star opposite the hilarious Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in Blended, according to Deadline.

The romantic comedy reteams Sandler and Barrymore who had a hit with 50 First Dates in 2004. The flick revolves around the parties to a particularly lousy blind date who — each with their kids from a previous marriage — find themselves stuck together in a resort for families. Despite everything they can do to resist, the attraction grows between the two, and their kids benefit from the burgeoning relationship. Bella will play Sandler’s daughter.

Blended is set to open May 23, 2014.

Darren Criss Romances Kristen Wiig in ‘Girl Most Likely’ Trailer + New Album Talk

The movie also stars Kristen Wiig, Annette Bening and Matt Dillon and is about Imogene, playwright who once seemed destined for great things who finds herself in the midst of a breakdown. When her harebrained mother (Annette Bening) comes to the hospital and reluctantly assumes custody of her as she recovers.

Darren is also getting ready to head out on his SOLD OUT Listen Up tour which means new music is on the way! The “Glee” star recently chatted with MTV News about releasing music, his first since the Human EP in 2010.

“So I really have been putting that in high gear and I have been working for the past three years seriously on making that album, and it’s tough ’cause I come from so many different worlds,” he explained to MTV News. “I could make that very niche pretentious, Wall of Sound, Rufus Wainwright, Animal Collective fusion record, which I will make someday maybe, but it won’t sell ’cause nobody will like it except me. I could do that, but as an artist everyone has a responsibility when they’re on a public landscape to cast the widest net and find the in-between.”

He continued, “I try and stray away from cliches as much as humanly possible and not to say cliches are bad… but basically there are certain things you hear over and over in the radio, certain lines and certain sounds that are unavoidable because they’re catchy,” Criss added. “And I’m really trying my best to have it sound like something where people say that sounds like Darren. It needs to be specific to me. That’s a really important thing to do as an artist and it’s not easy. I don’t think I’m going to accomplish it.”
